Baseball Hitting Tips and Motivation
I read a blog post in May that came out shortly after Oakland A’s pitcher Dallas Braden pitched a perfect game. There were thousands of blog posts about this great achievement but I only remember one. It said, "Maybe the most important thing to know about our perfect game pitcher Dallas Braden is this: He was never a prospect. Not ever." What does this have to do with baseball hitting tips? I’ll get there.
This particular entry goes on to state how Dallas Braden was never considered a serious prospect. He had some success in the minor leagues but it took an injury to Rich Harden before he got called up.
First, I wanted to write about this because throwing a perfect game is incredibly hard to do. It takes guts, determination and a little bit of luck. I usually don’t care what team the pitcher is on. If someone throws a no-hitter or perfect game, I will watch the last play on video over and over again. It’s amazing to see all of the great plays and extra effort made by the fielders to help their pitcher out.
Second, I wanted to write about determination and not giving up. One of the
baseball hitting tips to always remember is that you should never give up. Be determined and confident each time you go up to bat. Even if you are in some sort of nasty slump, clear your mind and be ready to attack the ball each time at bat. You always have to forget about the prior at-bat.
If you are in a situation like Dallas Braden who wasn’t highly regarded by many … never give up. If you are sitting on the bench right now in high school ball … don’t give up. Keep working hard at practice every day and when you get your opportunity you will show them how hard you’ve been working.
Reading stories and watching highlights about great achievements in baseball should become motivation for you to work harder. You never know … you may be the person we read about next!
