Dads Teaching Kids To Hit a Baseball Is Rewarding

teaching kids to hit a baseballTeaching kids to hit a baseball is rewarding in more ways than one and it’s good to see more and more dads out there getting involved.

My dad taught me how to hit a baseball and he was also my biggest cheerleader at all my games. I’m a father now and I’m starting to understand why it’s so crucial for fathers to be there.

This isn’t going to be a sad and cheesy motivational speech. I just want to help you understand that teaching your kids to hammer the baseball is pretty cool.

Rewards To Teaching Kids To Hit a Baseball

It feels pretty good when you teach your kids something useful and have a positive influence in their lives because you see them act it out.

It’s no different when it comes to baseball hitting. Teaching your kids step by step the fundamentals of hitting will provide positive and long-lasting memories.

On the other hand, being a dad who just sits on the sidelines while someone else teaches your kid how to hit leaves an unpleasant and empty feeling.

You don’t have to be that dad. I’ve seen it a few times and I honestly felt sorry for them. They either don’t want to help or they feel they aren’t qualified.

I’ve seen the reverse too. I’ve seen dads who didn’t even play baseball do tons of research, teach themselves how to hit a baseball and then teach their sons to become really great hitters.

The pride I saw in those dads was obvious and they never once said, “I did it!” They just looked at their sons and were proud of them.

Hitting a baseball is one of the hardest things to do in all sports so there is deserved satisfaction after teaching this skill to kids.

Competitive Desires While Teaching Kids To Hit a Baseball

Most men are competitive and it’s no different while teaching kids to hit a baseball. We don’t want our kids to just learn the fundamentals and send them up to the plate.

We want our kids to be the best hitter out there and smash the ball. Does that sound like you? There is nothing wrong with wanting your kids to be the best at what they do.

Teaching them and encouraging them is the way to go. We don’t want to yell at them or get disappointed with them.
